A brief history of HVDC and HVAC was included in the study and a key comparison between both transmission systems was done. It was discovered that Alternating Current (AC) is more expensive than Direct Current (DC) and HVDC transmission has less corona and radio interference than that of HVAC, although HVAC also has its own advantage.
