Introduction This text aims to elaborate a reflection on the way in which communication participates predominantly in the constitution of social reality. This avoids those theoretical approaches - specifically those that come from interactionist sociology1 - that postulate communication in the opposite direction that is as a consequence or result of social relations and not as the engine of them which is what is here defend2. For this we start from the paradigm of critical epistemology raised by Hugo Zemelman since the second half of the twentieth century and whose dialectical imprint allows us to apply for communicative processes as constitutive processes of the intrinsic movement of social reality.
