The Upper Krishna Project (UKP) and Malaprabha Ghataprabha Project (MGP) are the major irrigation projects in Karnataka and is the most prestigious multipurpose (irrigation and power) project An attempt was made to study the economics of cropping pattern in the four command areas. The study made use of both primary data and secondary data.
