Increasing drug resistance due to the production of AmpC β-lactamases and Extended spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) is an increasing cause of concern as it has left the clinicians with limited therapeutic options. Aims were detection of AmpC β lactamase in E. coli an comparison of the two phenotypic tests- AmpC disk test and Inhibitor based test using phenyl boronic acid. A total of 156 E. coli isolates from various clinical samples were collected for the study. | AmpC beta lactamase detection in Escherichia coli and comparison of two phenotypic methods
