Two year old guava trees cv. Pant Prabhat were sprayed with zinc sulphate (0, , and %) First spray was applied in June and second in September only on fifty per cent of the trees. The number of foliar sprays and various concentrations of zinc sulphate did not affect the tree height, tree canopy, trunk diameter and tree volume. However, maximum increase in shoot length was observed with per cent zinc sulphate. The minimum flower and fruit drop with maximum number of fruits per tree, fruit weight per tree and yield per ha was observed with double spray of zinc sulphate ( %). The leaf N ( %) and Zn ( ppm) contents were found maximum with per cent zinc sulphate while, leaf K ( %) was found maximum with per cent zinc sulphate. The leaf phosphorus content reduced with the increase in the concentration of zinc while leaf Ca + Mg remained unaffected. |
