Carrot (Daucus carota L.) is one of the most important root vegetables of both tropical and temperate countries. Proportion of organic food consumers is increasing with the increasing awareness of health and food safety concerns. There is a widespread belief that organic food is substantially healthier and safer than conventional food and consumers are willing to pay significant price premiums to obtain it.
