Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a gram negative bacillus that colonizes in moist environment of the hospital settings with occurrence of antimicrobial resistance. Increasing resistance to beta-lactam drugs, especially the 3rd-generation cephalosporins, in Pseudomonas aeruginosa is predominantly due to the production of extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs). This was a laboratory based observational study carried out over a period of 7 months from April 2019 to December 2019. |
