The interaction between root knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita and the fungus Fusarium oxysporum was studied on tomato cultivar Pusa Ruby under pot house conditions. The effect of the nematode in combination with the fungus enhanced the suppression of plant growth than that of the fungus alone. Inoculation of the nematode and fungus exhibited a synergistic effect on growth retardation of plants. Significant reduction in plant heights in pots with nematode alone ( cm) and fungus alone ( cm) were also recorded, as compared to un-inoculated control ( cm). |
