The researchers developed a list of 112 pairs of the contraindicated drug-drug interactions to serve as a reference to determine the frequency of contraindicated drug-drug interactions over 519 500 medical records and 1 254 099 prescriptions at 3 hospitals in Quang Ninh province. Twenty-six contraindicated drug-drug interactions were found over 297 medical records and 789 prescriptions 5 pairs with the highest frequency are Amiodarone-Amitriptyline Amiodarone-Moxifloxacin Amiodarone-Colchicine Levodopa -Sulpiride and Amiodarone- Haloperidol. Medical reccords with contraindicated drug-drug interactions were found in 13 different departments or interdisciplinary departments at all the three hospitals of which the highest rates were found in Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Departments Endocrinology Departments and Cardiology Pediatric Departments . The study also analyzed 26 pairs of common contraindicated drug-drug interactions in clinical practice based on retrospective data on drugs prescribed at the 3 hospitals
