Based on a questionnaire survey it is indicated thanks to the application of high technology agricultural cooperatives have significantly improved their production and business efficiency because they are more proactive in production. There has been a decline in input costs and improved productivity and product quality. However the number of agricultural cooperatives using high technology is small. High technology has been adopted in some production stages only. In the field of crop production the application of high technology in product preservation processing and consumption is limited due to lower capital requirements for investment in high technology and other resource related constraints of the cooperative as well as some policy bias. The study therefore proposes a number of recommendations to promote the application of high technology by local agricultural cooperatives.
