Drought tolerance is accompanied by number of traits and they are regulated by the many genes, hence targeting single gene against moisture stress will not be effective in crop improvement. Use of transcription factors (TFs) to target corresponding multigene is current trend. As per the many research findings, dehydration responsive element binding proteins (DREB) are reported as an important TFs that known to induces number of abiotic stress-related genes and impart the stress tolerance in plants. |
