The present study was planned to develop the best fecal extraction method for progesterone metabolite assay which is based on the concentration of fecal progesterone metabolite (FPM) (5α-pregnan-3α-ol-20-one), obtained in a dried fecal sample of buffaloes. Four clinically healthy female buffaloes of the same age group 4 to 7 years were used for the collection of fecal samples maintained under isomanagerial conditions with an intensive system at the LPM Section of the IVRI institute. |
