A comparative morphological study of tezpur litchi

A study was conducted on GI tagged Tezpur litchi (Litchi chinesis Sonn.) varieties at litchi garden, Porua, Tezpur and on a litchi variety at Experimental Farm, Department of Horticulture, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat during 2016-2018 to have a morphological studies of Tezpur litchi. Bombay Shahi Flowering Canopy Piyaji China Bilati and Elaichi from Tezpur and Shahi from Jorhat district with four spread Yield replications were laid out in a Completely Randomized Design CRD . The results Cracking revealed significant effect on canopy spread with maximum value in cultivar Tezpur Shahi. Cultivar Bombay showed early flowering with lowest duration from flowering to Article Info harvesting whereas reverse is the case in cultivar Bilati. The highest fruit weight fruit circumference fruit volume aril weight aril thickness and specific gravity were recorded Accepted 07 October 2020 in the cultivar Bilati. Piyaji recorded the highest seed weight length and diameter. The Available Online cultivar China displayed significantly highest yield per hectare ha whilst the 10 November 2020 lowest yield ha was recorded in JorhatShahi.
