Methods A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at the Vietnam National Children s Hospital from January 2020 to June 2020 included 602 pediatric patients who inserted a central catheter after hospitalization. Results The rates of using checklist when inserting catheter and caring them were and . Of which checklist compliance rates reached and 95 respectively. Maximum adherence to the sterile barrier when inserting a central catheter and proper hand hygiene when taking care of them was not really good. However initial results showed that the central-line associated bloodstream infection incidence rate decreased significantly. Conclusion Although the solution packages to prevent central-line bloodstream infection were not fully and synchronously implemented in departments at the Vietnam National Children s Hospital the incidence rate had decreased remarkably.
