The article also provides the basic concepts of the sustainable development and exacerbates the correlation between FDI inflows and the socio-economic and environmental factors in Vietnam. With the variables which represented for the efficiency of sustainable development in Vietnam for the period from 1990 to 2018 the study results show that the growth of FDI intakes has a certain impact on the environmental health index the social life quality and the economic background. On the other hand the sustainable development of these factors also shares a correlation with the FDI inflows growth. This presen- tation is a supplement to the previous research results presented in the seminar Current situation of the development of the FDI sector in implementing the sustainable development strategy in Vietnam in 2018 exploring other angles in which FDI is connected to the national sustainable development. Finally within the scope of the paper several recommendations and solutions helped to optimally exploit FDI intakes and to increase the efficiency of sustainable development in Vietnam in a more comprehensive manner in the future are introduced and presented.
