The efficacy of multi-ion doped nano-hydroxyapatite coated titanium intramedullary pins for long bone fracture repair in dogs was studied clinically. The present study was conducted on twenty-four dogs, accommodating six dogs in each group and were subjected to open reduction and internal immobilization with titanium intramedullary pins. Blood samples were collected on 0 day, at 3,6, and 9thweeks post operatively in all the groups to evaluate the levels of serum calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase. |
