This paper examines the impact of external technology acquisition on firm performance of Vietnamese manufacturing industry by using fixed effects model and random effects model to explore the impact of external technology acquisition, internal R&D activities, and other characteristics of the firm on firm performance. In addition, whether external technology acquisition is complementary or substitutive to internal R&D activities is also examined. The paper implies strategies and policy reforms to enhance the firm performance. |
