In the traditional design process using plane drawings usually CAD2D as the main tool for expressing design ideas. Traditional plane drawings are often not related to general structure and management. To highlight the the detail of structure engineers use front views plan views cross sections notes etc so it is sometimes difficult to visualize the shape of structure as well as unpredictable clash. Using Building Information Modeling BIM construction are shown on a 3D modeling with paramatric of geometry materials and 2D drawings will be created from the 3D model. This helps project participants have an overall 3D shape of the structure adjust the design and clash detections from period of making model. In Vietnam the application of BIM for bridge is still quite new an important reason is that the project participants are still quite doubting about the BIM process and has some compared to the traditional process in addition the human and the information technology infrastructure have not been invested leading to invest much fund in hardwares softwares in the BIM ecosystem. The article would like to share about the working process when applying BIM for bridge construction and find out the difficulties challenges and solutions to promote the application BIM fully synchronously and effectively.
