Research subjects and methods A cross-sectional descriptive study combining quantitative and qualitative was performed on 424 outpatients at the hypertension clinic. Results Among 424 hypertensive patients managed at Son Tay General Hospital males accounted for 45 8 females accounted for 54 3 the average age of 66 3 showed that 47 4 of patients had comorbidities of which 21 5 had diabetes 17 9 had lipid metabolism disorders and 8 0 had both diseases. 52 6 of treated patients reached target blood pressure. 64 2 of patients adhered to general treatment. The percentage of well-managed patients was 52 6 . The rate of hypertensive patients with complications is 54 5 . Conclusion Hypertension is a common chronic disease in both men and women gt 60 years old. Often associated with diabetes and lipid metabolism disorders have a high complication rate.
