Patients and method A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study on 95 head and neck cancer patients receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy at Vietnam National Cancer Hospital from March 2022 to December 2022. Results The majority of patients were under 65 years old the majority were male and had a history of tobacco and or alcohol use . More than half of patients were diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. 100 of patients had oral mucositis mainly grade 1 and grade 2 . No serious toxicity was recorded at grade 4. There were fungal infections and bacterial infections. The majority of patients obeyed nursing care guidelines few patients had treatment interruption interruption rate was . After the intervention of patients improved their symptoms. Conclusion Oral mucositis induced by chemoradiotherapy was common adverse events in head and neck cancer. Internal medicine care plays an important role in improving patient s symptoms and their quality of life minimizing the treatment interruption.
