Subjects and methods Retrospective description of 579 patients with differentiated thyroid cancer who were examined and treated with radioactive iodine I-131 at the Department of Nuclear Medicine National Cancer Hospital K hospital Tan Trieu Campus. Results According to our study the average age was the youngest was 7 years old and the oldest was 77 years old female male 4 1. There were 290 patients taking the diagnostic dose of 5 mCi I-131 from 32 patients were admitted to the hospital 17 patients were due to elevated Tg serum level and 15 patients were due to residual thyroid tissue or metastasis . There were 579 patients who were arranged for 14 beds at the inpatient ward unit the waiting time from post-surgery to the I-131 treatment were 60 days the shortest was 13 days and the longest 97 days . Patients who treated with the 100 mCi of I-131 dose accounted for 43 patients with 50 mCi of I-131 accounted for 33 and patients with 150 mCi and 200 mCi of I-131 dose groups were 11 . The average length of stay in the inpatient ward radiation safety guaranteed lt 50 µSv h when leaving the ward was days the fastest was 2 days with the dose of 50 mCi and the longest was 4 days with the dose of 200 mCi of I-131 . From the establishment of the I-131 inpatient ward from the end of 2019 until now our department had supervised of about patients but there are only 14 beds in the inpatient ward and .
