Before we move further and get our hands dirty by starting working with it it s time to know its architecture. Once you understand its architecture you will be able to appreciate how the various components perform their jobs to successfully execute an Integration Services package. Let s start with the architecture diagram provided in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Books Online and shown in Figure 1-1.
