In Oracle Database, the OracleJVM has a new memory model for sessions that connect to the database through a dedicated server. Since a session using a dedicated server is guaranteed to use the same process for every database call, the Process Global Area is used for session specific memory and object allocations. This means that some of the objects and resources that used to be reclaimed at the end of each call can now live across calls.
