Now that you have practiced the essay question type which requires you to respond to what is called a “stand-alone” prompt, it is necessary to look at the question type which provides an actual document or documents to use in your answer. These are called “text-based” questions. These are a very different kind of question—easier in some ways because the information you need is provided for you, but difficult in other ways.
