It doesn t matter in which order they get them. They work on this card for a while and then at a signal from the teacher to Change . the cards are rotated. To avoid a mix-up rotate the cards in the same direction every time. This continues until each of the pairs has had all five cards. 4 The basic method of working with each card is as follows When they get a card they first of all make a note of its number on a piece of paper This is to avoid getting the same card twice The person with the definitions - the one with the A side of the card - starts first. S he goes through all the definitions one after the other asking each time . What s the word for a way of pronouncing a language particular to one area After each definition is a number in brackets. This refers to the number of the correct answer on the other side in this case word number 7. After asking the question the partner looks at the eight words on his her side of the card and gives an answer guessing if necessary . It s Word Number 7. It s accent . The first person now says if it is right or wrong. If wrong s he can say No it s Word Number . whatever number is in brackets. When all eight words have been gone through in this way the pairs change over. This time the person with the B side of the card starts. S he goes through the words one after the other saying . Give a definition of the word bait . The partner will now hopefully answer It s Definition Number 4. It s food used to attract fish or animals so that they can be caught. 5 As a quick follow-up read out one or two definitions from each card and see how many of the students can remember the words.
