If you configure your client or spam filter to automatically delete suspected spam those messages are gone. If someone calls you and says they sent you something you have nowhere to look if it was trashed. Unless you re very confident in your filter s work you may want to let the spam pile up in the junk folder or quarantine area until you explicitly review and delete it. People attach all sorts of things to their messages. Many of the messages I get every day have attachments. As I m writing this book I send manuscript to my editor as an attachment. The edited manuscript comes back to me as an attachment. This makes transporting information easy and convenient but attachments are problematic for two reasons. The first reason is that there are good attachments not-so-good attachments and downright bad attachments. Everyone gets attachments
