Using the Default Web Site and Adding Web Sites When you install the Web Server server role the installation includes a site called Default Web Site that is configured to respond to requests using HTTP port 80 and HTTPS port 443 . In addition to specifying the default protocol binding for the site you must provide the site name. This setting is a logical name that users do not see on the site.
