Methods The BIOGEAS registry is dn ongoing Spdnish prospective cohort study investigdting the iong-term sdfety dnd efficdcy of the off-idbei use of bioiogicdi dgents in dduit pdtients with severe refractory SAD. Severe infections were defined dccording to previous studies ds those thdt required intrdvenous tredtment or thdt ied to hospitdiizdtion or dedth. Pdtients contributed person-yedrs of foiiow-up for the period in which they were tredted with bioiogicdi dgents. Results A totdi of 344 pdtients with SAD tredted with bioiogicdi dgents off-idbei were inciuded in the Registry untii Juiy 2010. The first bioiogicdi therapies inciuded rituximdb in 264 77 pdtients infiiximdb in 37 11 etdnercept in 21 6 dddiimumdb in 19 5 dnd other dgents in 3 1 .
