Documents open in the main area of the screen. You ll learn how to work with the Site panel and the Documents area in the next two sessions but I want to pause and give you a chance to become familiar with how sites and documents are managed. Site panel When you define a site as you will do in Session 3 Dreamweaver scans the folder you specify and lists the folders it finds in the Site panel when Local View is selected. See Figure 2-1. You can move rename and delete files from this panel and the changes will be made on your hard drive. If you make the changes to files when you are not working in the Dreamweaver screen the Dreamweaver Site panel will reflect those changes as well. This window is simply an extra listing of what is on your hard drive in the specified folder. When you choose Remote View the Site panel displays a list of the files on your remote server.
