It is a function of the Museum s new Center for Biodiversity and Conservation which serves to increase awareness of the world s dwindling species and our efforts to reverse this trend. There are four feature stories each quarter presented on a map of the world to emphasize the global scope of the problem. There is also a Java applet with a rolling bulletin of messages at the top of the page. All the links on this page and most in the site are JavaScript rollovers with the rollovers for the feature stories changing the map heading. Figure Courtesy Museum of Natural History - 134 - The home page for the BioBulletin contains two frames. The main frame is the BioBulletin subsite and the thin frame across the bottom contains links back to the main Museum site. This effectively creates an autonomous site within the AMNH domain which is how this subsite is maintained. The Science Bulletins Group creates the content separately from the rest of the AMNH site and it s possible to view the BioBulletin pages without the AMNH frame at the bottom see Note . Everything in the design layout of this page emphasizes the horizontal. Within the feature frame is a strip of hierarchical links Success Stories What You Can Do and a link back to The Hall of Biodiversity . There s much to read about here and more activities will be added to the site over time. All of the content for this site matches the exhibits in the Museum s Hall of Biodiversity. In fact the feature stories are first created for kiosks in the hall and then put up on the Web site.
