Currently, poverty is broadly defined by the lack of public services and the lack of opportunities to generate income, as well as the inability of people to act in their own interests, to express their needs through con- crete proposals, and to organize collectively to implement solutions. Poverty constitutes a challenge to the peaceful coexistence of people and represents ignorance of their social, economic, and political rights.
