It was agreed that business as usual would not be enough to achieve the breakthroughs required in maternal and child health and HIV. At the conclusion of the consultation, participants made a call to all stakeholders to use these recommendations as a basis for further action in improving access to health workers at the frontline for better maternal and child survival, and build on them as appropriate, tailored to specific policy and implementation contexts.
