Human manganese superoxide dismutase is a mitochondrial metalloenzyme that is involved in protecting aerobic organisms against superoxide toxicity, and has been implicated in slowing tumor growth. Unfortunately, this enzyme exhibits strong product inhibition, which limits its potential bio-medical applications.
