The preparation and mechanical properties of bamboo - glass fiber mat reinforced polyropylene hybrid composite (BGMRPC) were investigated. The results showed that properies of the composite depend on the amount of glass fiber mat and the hybrid method. Replacing of bamboo fiber mat by glass fiber mat, the tensile, flexural and impact strengths of BGMRPC were increased by 33%, 28% and 79% respectively comparing to bamboo fiber mat reinforced polypropylene composite (BMRPC). The moisture absorption of BMRPC and BGMRPC was studied and compared.
