A Pot experiment was conducted with nine cowpea genotypes and two levels of zinc in sand culture medium to study the response of different cowpea genotypes to zinc fertilization in root characteristics. The highest average total root length ( cm), surface area ( cm2 ), diameter ( mm) and root volume ( cm3 ) were recorded in highest average number of root tips was observed in V11 (). The highest average number of forks () and number of crossings () was noted in V10. The highest average cation exchange capacity of roots ( meq g-1 ) was recorded in V5. | Effect of Zn application on root growth parameters and shoot dry matter content of some cowpea genotypes
