An experiment was conducted with four rice genotypes Swarna Sub1, Nagina-22, NDR-102 and NDR-97 submergence related traits at the student’s instructional farm of Narendra Deva University of agriculture and technology, Kumarganj Ayodhya (). Thirty five days old direct seeded rice seedlings was exposed to 11 days complete submergence treatment. Shoot elongation rate, catalase and peroxidase activity was recorded at the end of submergence treatment. Less shoot elongation and high catalase activity were recorded in Swarna Sub1 and NDR-102 while Nagina-22 and NDR-97 showes high reduction and less increase respectively. Swarna Sub1and NDR-102 showed fast recovery after desubmergence. NDR-97 poorly survived and Nagina-22 fail to survive during submergence period. Days to 50% flowering was less affected in Swarna Sub1 and NDR-102 it delayed in case of yield per plant was highly affected in NDR-97 while less in Swarna Sub1 and NDR-102. | Effect of submergence stress on physiological indices and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes
