Forty five hybrids were generated from crossing fifteen lines with three testers in line × tester design. The hybrids along with parents were evaluated for yield and yield component traits to study combining ability and gene action in maize. The general combining ability (gca) and specific combining ability (sca) were significant for all the characters, which indicates the importance of both additive and non-additive genetic components. | Combining ability and genetic action studies for yield and its related traits in maize Zea mays L.
