The field experiments on cotton were conducted on selected farmers’ fields in Purna valley of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra during treatments comprised of five different green manures, two crop residues, gypsum and control. There were nine treatments replicated on three farmers’ fields. The design of experiment was randomized block design, replicated three times, where one farmer was treated as one replication. The use of crop residues and green manuring was found beneficial as that of gypsum in physical properties of the soils in addition to gradual chemical amelioration. |
