A total of 37 species of Doryaims group belonging to 16 genera and 9 families were recorded. Among them the highest number of 10 species were found in the family Aporcelaimidae 27 followed by Belondiridae and Qsianematidae with 6 species Dorylaimidae and Mydonomidae consisted of 4 species each Longidoridae with 3 species Nordiidae with 2 species and Tylencholaimidae and Paractinolaimidae with only 1 species each. Species composition in the secondary forest habitat was the highest with 26 species 7 families 15 genera in comparision with the remaining 3 types of habitats. In the pristine forest the diversity was less than that of the secondary forest with 24 species 7 families 14 genera . The diversity in the slash and burn habitat was low with 22 species 6 families 12 genera by comparision with two forest habitats. The intensive agriculture area was the lowest in number of species with 19 species 9 families 16 genera . Our study showed that the secondary forest and the pristine forest are important to maintain diversity of free-living terrestrial nematode fauna.
