Screening includes methods Screening questionnaires of risk of hearing loss. Simple audiologic tests as pure tone audiology otoacoustic emissiom and tympanography. Diagnosis includes methods Medical history. Clinical exams comprising general otologic head and neck examinations. Simple audiologic test by diapason. Official diagnosis consists of appropriate specific audiologic tests tympanography acoustic stapedius reflex otoacoustic emissiom and auditory brainstem response. Causes of hearing loss are determined within each type of hearing loss Conductive hearing loss is usually easy to determine causes. Sensorineural hearing loss is usually more dificult to determine causes among which important causes are genetic disorders and congenital infections.
