Processing of agricultural products such as cassava starch malt dehulled mung beans etc. was popularly practiced in the commune. The quantities of cassava residue and mung bean bran produced were large 56 954 tons cassava residue 8 400 tons black cassava starch and 1 tons mung bean bran per year . Results of chemical analysis showed that black cassava starch was poor in crude protein and minerals . Meanwhile mung bean bran was relatively rich in crude protein especially mung bean germ bran . In addition in a feeding trial sixteen growing F1 pigs were selected and devided into 2 groups of eight pigs each . The pigs in the control group received the ration as normally practiced in the area at first stage black cassava starch ad libitum at second stage black cassava starch ad libitum plus 1 kg concentrate . The pigs in experimental group received black cassava starch ad libitum plus kg mung bean germ bran at first stage and 1 kg mung bean germ bran at second stage. Results showed that the pigs in experimental group grew faster than those in the control group vs g head day . As a result using mung bean germ bran brought more profit to the farmer than the normal practice VND head day at first stage and VND kg bodyweightgain at second stage .
