Through GHI, the U.S. seeks to align goals and targets for our investments with partner country needs, plans and pri- orities. These goals and targets build upon our existing health programs as we work with countries to achieve signifi- cant and sustainable gains in health. Achieving sustainable health outcomes requires a purposeful effort to strengthen country health systems and transition to country-owned health delivery platforms, overcoming barriers.
