In general, it is reviewed that there will be decrease in rainfall for SW monsoon and increase in rainfall during NE monsoon for peninsular region during El Niño years and vice versa for La Niña years. Markov chain tool is implicated here to find out the distribution of wet spells during El Niño and La Niña years compared with neutral years so as to find the maximum possible wet period which helps in identifying maximum cropping duration for respective periods. |
