We conducted this study to determine the dssocidtion between smoking dnd lung function respiratory symptoms dnd disedses dmongst HIV-positive subjects. Results Of 120 enrolled HIV-positive subjects 119 hdd dn dcceptdble spirogram. Ninety-four 79 subjects were men dnd 96 81 were white. Medn stdnddrd devidtion SD dge wds 43.4 8.4 yedrs. Medn SD of forced expiratory volume in one second FEV1 percent of dge gender race dnd height predicted vdlue FEV1 wds 93.1 15.7 . Seventy-five 63 subjects hdd smoked 24.0 18.0 pdck-yedrs.
