With the publication of Volume III, we have reached the halfway mark in the production of the six-volume print edition of the Encyclopedia of Women and Islamic Cultures. The three remaining volumes – Volume IV (Economics, Education, Mobility, and Space), Volume V (Practices, Interpretations, and Representations), and Volume VI (Supplement and Cumulative Index) – will all be published in 2006. The completion of Volume VI in 2006 will mark twelve years from the first conversations about EWIC between Brill editors and myself, eight years from the formal signing of the contract to undertake EWIC, and seven years from the first EWIC editorial board meeting
