Many of the recommendations outlined in ―Pesticides in the Diets of Infants and Children‖ were incorporated in the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 (FQPA), which ensures greater protection of children from pesticide risks. Consistent with these mandates, OPP has established policies, procedures, and requirements to expand the protection of children. This document is designed to educate readers about the foundation for children’s health protection that has been established in our national pesticide program, which encompasses the work of OPP and its regulatory partners, including states, tribes, and other federal agencies.
