Method Cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 85 elderly people at the Elderly Care Center in Dong Anh district Hanoi city in 2023 to describe basic daily functional activities and a number of relevant factors. Results The rate of elderly people with reduced basic daily functioning was high with partially dependent on caregivers completely dependent. Among them bowel and bladder control is the activity with the lowest average score of points. Elderly people with 3 or more comorbidities elderly people with dementia have a higher risk of reduced basic daily functioning. Malnourished elderly people according to MNA are times more likely to have reduced basic daily functioning than the non-malnourished group with a 95 CI of - . No relationship was found between decreased albumin and serum protein and decreased basic daily functioning. Conclusion Basic daily functioning of the elderly decreases the rate of complete dependence and partial dependence is high accounting for and . There is a statistically significant association between comorbidities dementia and malnutrition with a statistically significant decrease in basic daily functioning.
