Currently in Vietnam there is no research on the anatomical characteristics of the internal thoracic artery. We conducted Study on applied anatomical characteristics of the internal thoracic artery in adult Vietnamese cadavers . Objectives - Research on anatomical characteristics of the internal thoracic artery in adult Vietnamese cadavers. - Research on variations in internal thoracic artery anatomy in adult Vietnamese cadavers. Methods Descriptive study of a series of cases convenient sampling. All cadavers that met the sampling criteria were included in the study. Results 91 cases of internal thoracic artery 91 originate directly from the subclavian artery 9 cases of internal thoracic artery originate together with other arteries. In 72 of cases the phrenic nerve crosses anterior to the internal thoracic artery and in 28 of cases the phrenic nerve crosses posterior to the internal thoracic artery. The length of the left internal thoracic artery is mm the right is mm. Conclusions The anatomical characteristics of the internal thoracic artery are suitable for coronary artery bypass surgery.
